KPP care in mountain environments

KPP · 16h

Apply your Polish KPP skills in mountain terrain. Practise care that accounts for weather, limited equipment and a prolonged evacuation.

Ask about training

When reaching a casualty is difficult, bringing them out may be harder still.

Care in mountain terrain must account for the weather, available equipment and time needed for evacuation. This module develops the use of Polish KPP skills when assistance takes longer and conditions influence the team's next decisions.

You practise selecting actions and equipment, protecting the casualty and preparing for movement. Scenarios also include waiting and reassessment, so that the care plan covers the whole task.

The exercises help you apply familiar KPP skills to mountain conditions. Terrain is selected to suit the group; the course does not confer mountain rescue qualifications.

Training content

  • How terrain and conditions affect care organisation.
  • Selecting KPP actions and equipment with limited resources.
  • Preparing the casualty for movement, reassessment and cooperation during prolonged evacuation.

Learning outcomes

  • Participants account for environmental constraints in their care plan.
  • They practise continuity of KPP care while awaiting evacuation and during movement.

Who it is for

Rescuers holding Polish KPP (qualified first aid) qualifications.

How we train

Workshops, problem-solving tasks and scenarios with discussion of decisions and repeated practice.
