Emergency medical care in mountain environments

RM · 16h

Develop your approach to patient care in mountain terrain as a paramedic. Connect clinical decisions with limited resources, waiting time and evacuation options.

Ask about training

A medical decision also has to account for the route, the time and the conditions ahead.

In mountain terrain, a care plan covers both the patient's current condition and what may happen while waiting and during evacuation. Limited equipment and difficult transport become part of assessing what the team can achieve.

The course places clinical decisions in this context: setting priorities, matching interventions to resources and preparing the patient for movement. You work on monitoring and continuity of care through each stage of the task.

The module is for paramedics who want to develop patient care in mountain conditions. Its focus is medical care that accounts for the environment; exercise conditions are matched to the group's preparation.
