Hypothermia — KPP

KPP · 8h

Connect recognition of hypothermia with practical casualty protection and an evacuation plan. This Polish KPP module covers thermal protection, movement and continuity of care.

Ask about training

Thermal protection needs to work throughout the evacuation.

Recognising the problem is the starting point. You also need to prepare thermal protection, choose from the available equipment and plan movement so that care continues throughout.

The course connects casualty assessment with practical packaging, insulation and preparation for evacuation. You practise reassessment, responding to changes in condition and passing relevant information to the next team.

The focus is on an approach your team can put into practice together and maintain during the operation. Patient observations are simulated; participants are not deliberately exposed to hypothermia.

Training content

  • Recognition, assessment and prevention of further heat loss.
  • Patient packaging, insulation, external warming and safe handling.
  • Reassessment, resuscitation within KPP competencies, frostbite recognition and protection, and coordination of continuing care.

Learning outcomes

  • Participants prepare thermal protection and plan careful evacuation.
  • They monitor changes and communicate with the team taking over care.

Who it is for

Rescuers holding Polish KPP (qualified first aid) qualifications.

How we train

Workshops, problem-solving tasks and scenarios with discussion of decisions and repeated practice. Patient parameters are simulated; participants are not deliberately exposed to hypothermia.

Environments and links

The training setting is selected to suit the group’s tasks and available facilities.

Hypothermia — paramedic level

Build a coherent care plan for a patient with accidental hypothermia. Practise clinical assessment, warming and transport decisions, and responses to deterioration within the paramedic scope.
