Water Safety & Shore Rescue
Foundation · 4 × 45 min
A foundation for safe work near water: assessing the situation, organising the team and providing shore-based assistance without unnecessary water entry.
Training enquiriesThis module develops the ability to choose an effective rescue method with the lowest practicable risk. It also suits personnel whose duties do not involve entering the water.

- Recognising hazards involving temperature, depth, banks, structures and weather.
- Selecting a rescue method that limits exposure of rescuers.
- Team roles, communication, safety cover and scene management.
- Shore-based rescue: reaching, extending and throwing with dedicated or improvised equipment.
- Basic use of flotation aids.
- Care after recovery and handover for further assistance.
