Emergency medical care within specialist rescue

RM · 8–16h

Combine your roles as a paramedic and a specialist rescue team member. Practise care with restricted access and equipment, coordinating medical actions with the technical evacuation plan.

Ask about training

You reach the patient as a specialist rescuer. You also care for them as a paramedic.

This course is for paramedics who have technical rescue training and work within a specialist team. It starts with situations where patient access, working position and available equipment limit how medical needs can be met.

You practise clinical assessment in those conditions, selecting essential equipment and setting priorities before and during evacuation. You connect the medical plan with the sequence of technical actions and turn the patient's needs into clear agreements with the team.

Working in this dual role defines the module. Scope and duration are adapted to the participants' specialism and the exercise configuration. The required technical preparation remains an entry condition; this medical module does not replace it.

Training content

  • Clinical assessment and intervention planning under environmental constraints.
  • Equipment selection and medical priorities before evacuation.
  • Monitoring and continuity of care throughout technical rescue.

Learning outcomes

  • Participants adapt paramedic care to team capabilities and patient access.
  • They coordinate the medical plan with the sequence of technical tasks.

Who it is for

Professionally qualified paramedics in the role described in this module.

How we train

Workshops, problem-solving tasks and scenarios with discussion of decisions and repeated practice.

Environments and links

The setting follows participants’ technical specialism. Specific configurations require approval; CBRNE is not included by default.

Trauma patient care — paramedic level

Connect trauma assessment with treatment decisions and a transport plan. For paramedics, this module focuses on the reasoning behind actions, evaluating their effects and responding to changes in condition.

MED-32RM8h

Hypothermia — paramedic level

Build a coherent care plan for a patient with accidental hypothermia. Practise clinical assessment, warming and transport decisions, and responses to deterioration within the paramedic scope.

MED-34RM8h

EMS cooperation with specialist rescue teams

Practise cooperation between an EMS team and specialist rescuers, including when your team arrives first. Agree priorities, communicate needs and prepare to take over patient care.

Life-threatening Bleeding Control

Choose a bleeding-control method and test its effectiveness on actively bleeding training models. Exercises are adapted to first aid, Polish KPP or paramedic level.
